Kelley Blue Book (KBB) conducts an annual survey with more than 12,000 consumers seeking a new car or truck. The purpose: get their opinions about automotive brands, which KBB then recognizes through “awards” for 13 categories. This survey is called the Kelley Blue Book’s Brand Image Awards, and the most prestigious of the thirteen bestowed by the company is the “Best Overall Brand.”
For the second consecutive year, a majority of the 12,000 new car buyers voted for Honda to receive the “Best Overall Brand” honor for its first time and the “Most Trusted Brand” award for its third consecutive year. These accolades help confirm for the automaker that its engineers, manufacturing plants, designers, and many more continue to put forth superior work – a true commitment to excellence. As KBB noted, with regards to the overall win, it does not come as a surprise since Honda won the “Most Trusted Brand” among non-luxury shoppers for three years in a row.
“A brand is really built over the long haul through consumers’ experiences with its products, and Honda is committed to delivering class-leading vehicles that provide lasting enjoyment and value to our customers,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda automobile division for American Honda, in a statement. “Honda simply embraces the challenge of being a brand that people can trust.”
Honda netted the highest composite score through the best averages among twelve factors in the study, including affordability, “coolness,” comfort, performance, reliability, exterior styling, fuel efficiency, interior design, prestige/sophistication, reputation, ruggedness, and safety. The strongest contributors to the automaker’s scores were the opinions marked for the Accord, Civic, CR-V, and Odyssey – all boast tremendous consumer perception.
